Nolan, Allen
My dad Allen Nolan worked there till around 1977/78 when he took his redundancy. I remember when I was little he had to go in one day for something but he wasn't working and took me with him. I came out with a pocketful of money to get sweets that all his friends had given me. When he passed away in 2014 we had his wake at the Triumph club and my brother was married there. Myself and my 3 sisters were all members of the standard swimming club and always did our swim for the Shields and the river severn swim. Many a happy time.
